Project Work Status

Pier Bridge Project Work Status

In May 2007 it was hoped that work could commence on the project during the Fall of 2007 as long as weather permitted and recommence in the Spring of 2008.  However, receipt of the engineering proposal from DuBois & King, Randolph, Vermont, was delayed.  The proposal was finally received during the third week of October 2007 and is being evaluated by Dan O’Neill, Newport Town Manager, Dr James Garvin and Elizabeth Muzzey both from New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources.

Once approval of the Project Engineers is finalized, the design and contractor bidding process will commence over the winter.
